Our Story

Since 1983, DR.Nazeer Hussain has been working with various companies on a variety of projects. He  gained knowledge in Activated Carbon manufacturing, fuel oil additives for oil and coal fired boilers. Emission reductions achieved by burning emulsified fuels. He has developed formulae for manufacturing fuel oil additives (Vanadium+Sulphur inhibitors) for boilers and turbines.

Dr.Nazeer has worked with Pentol GmbH for 13 yrs and System Separation Sweden AB for 3 yrs in KSA. He has developed market for them from the start. Since 2018, Dr.Nazeer also dealing with Coal Combustion Additives in India in addition to HFO additives.

He has also worked with Rhodia, UK & Solvay  for 6 yrs applying their antiscalant for desalination plants. His services for technical support to existing and new companies and formulations are available to the clients globally.

Dr.Nazeer Hussain, a Ph.D in Chemistry and a Post Graduate Diploma in Financial Management from India.

Heavy Fuel Oil contains Vanadium and Sulphur that form corrosive products in the  boilers and turbines. General practice is to apply Magnesium based chemicals in different forms depending on the budget and operational convenience. Widely applied products are MgO slurries and Mg (OH)2 organic carrier based products due to cost and performance factors.

MgO which is the ultimate combustion product reacts with corrosive Vanadium and Sodium products at the hot end and convert them into friable neutral high melting Vanadate. Similarly at the cold end it neutralizes Sulphuric acid to form non-corrosive MgSO4. Thus one chemical does dual function.  MgO reduces White Plume observed in the stacks due to SO3.

When the boiler releases black smoke due to improper combustion, either a combustion catalyst is applied or  an emulsified fuel (Water-in-Oil Emulsion) is burnt to improve the combustion.

​

Without Water-in-Oil (WIO) emulsion, the oil droplets are not completely burned and a certain percentage of the fuel remains in the form of un-burned carbon. The percentage of un-burned carbon is, dependent on the combustion and boiler design, typically 80% of the solid emission.

​

With water-in-oil emulsion, there is a secondary micro-explosion of the water droplets which fragments the oil droplets into thousands of tiny oil particles. Thus the combustion is almost complete, with no un-burned carbon.

COAL FIRED BOILERS, GAS-TURBINES

Coal ash combustion problems due to its constituents are also mitigated with MgO or Mg(OH)2. Contrary to HFO fired boilers the highly alkaline coal ash resistivity is decreased by injecting SO3 to improve the ash collection efficiency of the ESP. Currently, Dr.Nazeer is busy in treating coal fired boilers in India.

In Gas turbine fuels the sodium is first washed and the Vanadium is treated usually with Magnesium Carboxylates or Sulphonates or Mg(OH)2 with varying Mg % with or without a catalyst according to the choice of the customers.

FUEL ADDITIVE KNOW-HOW/FORMULATIONS:

Dr.Nazeer has to his credit a number of fuel oil additive formulations for boilers and turbines and also for coal combustion additive . These know-how  are  available for a fee. Emulsion additives for HFO, Vacuum Residue and Demulsifier formulations are also available.

ANTISCALANTS FOR DESALINATION PLANTS (MSF/MED/RO/Cooling Water Treatment)

Dr.Nazeer has worked on these antiscalants from 2009 to 2015 and has gained their application knowledge and conducted successful trials.

​

The formulations based on Polymaleic and Phosphonates are available with him. He does have antiscalant formulation for cooling towers.
